Maximum number of generators of an ideal of points on an irreducible surface of low degree
Abstract
Let X be a finite set of distinct points lying on an irreducible surface with Hilbert function H(X,i). In this paper we will prove that the maximum number of generators, in each degree, of the ideal defining X is obtained by the second difference of the Hilbert function.The authors retain all rights to the original work without any restrictions.
